The Cast of Empire Records

Let's talk about the cast. The misfit teenagers working at an independent record store were mostly unknown actors at the time of filming, but the majority of them have gone on to bigger and better things.

Corey - Liv Tyler
Who knew the girl from the Aerosmith videos would become an A-list star? After Empire, she had roles in That Thing You Do!, Armageddon, One Night at McCool's, The Lord of the Rings movies, Jersey Girl, The Strangers, The Incredible Hulk, and most recently Robot & Frank.

Gina - Renee Zellweger
She is definitely the most successful of the group with an Oscar and three Golden Globes. She went on to star in Jerry McGuire, Nurse Betty, the Bridget Jones movies, Chicago, Down With Love, Cold Mountain, Case 39 and will star in the upcoming movie, Bridget Jones's Baby.

Debra - Robin Tunney
My doppelganger (Really though? What do you think? See here) went on to star in another beloved '90s teen movie, The Craft. She also appeared in movies like End of Days and Paparazzi before becoming successful on TV with Prison Break and The Mentalist.

Mark - Ethan Embry
He had a few great movies after Empire (Can't Hardly Wait, Sweet Home Alabama, Eagle Eye) and starred in LA Dragnet, Brotherhood, and Once Upon a Time on TV. Since he was a competitive gymnast as a kid, he does all his own stunts. Kinda cool!

Lucas - Rory Cochrane
He's actually been pretty successful. His next movies were Dogtown, A Scanner Darkly, Public Enemies, and Passion Play, he had roles in CSI: Miami and 24, and most recently won a SAG award as part of the cast of Argo, playing Lee Schatz. I had no idea that was him!

AJ - Johnny Whitworth
He stopped acting after Empire, but came back a few years later in The Rainmaker. He's also appeared in Valentine, 3:10 to Yuma, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, and Limitless. He played a detective on CSI: Miami for a season too. He is still so cute!

Rex Manning - Maxwell Caulfield
Did you know he played Michael in Grease 2? Your mind is blown, right? He's been in a lot of British TV shows (Casuality, Emmerdale) and is starring in a new online show called DeVanity premiering later this month. He recently had a guest appearance on Modern Family.

Joe - Anthony LaPaglia
He had roles in movies Summer of Sam, Company Men, and Autumn in New York, and made a name for himself on TV appearing in Frasier and Murder One, and starring in Without A Trace.

Jane - Debi Mazar
Before making it in Hollywood, she was Madonna's makeup artist and appeared in five music videos. Since Empire she's been on TV shows LA Law, That's Life, Jonas, and most notably Entourage. She's had a ton of minor parts in movies and will be in the upcoming Lovelace.

Warren - Brendan Sexton III
He has been in movies like Pecker, Boys Don't Cry, Session 9, Black Hawk Down, and The Runaways. Most recently, he starred in AMC's The Killing and had a part in the movie Seven Psychopaths.

Berko - Coyote Shivers
During filming of the movie he was Liv Tyler's step-dad! Crazy. Afterwards, he appeared in some independent movies (The Boys & Girls Guide to Getting Down and Hollywood Sex Wars), worked on his music and toured with KISS, but is probably best known for his litigious divorce from NCIS actress Pauley Perrette.

Eddie - Kimo Wills
He was in the movie The Toa of Steve and had guest appearances on episodes of District and Monk.

Not too shabby for the cast of the little movie that couldn't.

You still have time to enter to win Empire Records on DVD!

I just love Liv Tyler. I think she's so pretty. And I have seen The Craft a ridiculous amount of times. I guess it was on cable a lot years ago because I can remember watching it a ton with Tony. We still quote it. And I watch The Mentalist and love her on that. The first Bridget Jones's Diary is one of my all-time faves.. just blogged about it. I'm excited for a new movie and want a new book. One's supposedly coming out later this year unrelated to the movie.

That Thing You Do!, another one of my beloveds.

I think the lower half of Robin Tunney's face looks weird now. I don't think you resemble her!

I loved Mark in Sweet Home Alabama and Lucas in CSI: Miami. I didn't know he was in Argo because I haven't seen it yet. BALLS. AJ reminds me of that guy in 50/50, what is his name?

Grease 2 is my favorite over Grease. I know, I'm insane. I loved that Michael was sexy Rexy.

Wow I watched this movie forever ago but I remember thinking Liv was so pretty in it. I would love to watch it again if I win.

Every once in awhile there is a movie casting director that is practically a prophet. Who'd have thought so many of these guys would be so big.

Reminds me a lot of whoever casted a season(s) of Mickey Mouse Club back in the day-Christina, Justin, Britney, and Ryan!

I love Once Upon a Time but I am about 8 episodes behind. Had no idea Ethan Embry is on it. I am catching up on Sunday!

I absolutely LOVE Liv Tyler. I can't remember where she first got me but have you ever seen Inventing the Abbots? I remember loving that one SO MUCH but I haven't seen it in years. I obviously need to watch it again. She's so beautiful! And doesn't she have a son named Milo?!

How is it that all of them barely look like they've aged, minus Warren, he got older, clearly :)
